The things people do
Hmm... I think I'm thinking of the Mitsu Montero, real old school... Either way, waaay too much fun!
(I would say 'much' instead of 'waaay' because I just said 'way' right before, but then realized there would be two 'much,' no pun intended. The predicaments I face each day!)

We still call it winter Charlie ...

We don't actually have a RAV4, but we borrow one of our friend's ..... since this is Japan, every RAV4 that is bought has an auto box
, which means that fun is something that you have to look for very hard when you are driving one !!

It is 4WD .... there is no way you would get up to our house in the mountains without 4WD in the winter .....

In fact, one couple who tried to get up there with 4WD at the beginning of the season failed and had to abandon the car and walk to the house ....

They did go up on a day when it had dumped about 4 ft of snow in 12 hours .... and no other people had been up the track that day ...... took them about 6 hours to do the final 2 miles to the house .... but I shouldn't laugh

still, i dont consider a rav4 a real 4wd. it may work for snowy paved roads, but that shit'll get you stuck in texas. esp. on our land.
even when i go to drop stuff off at the Purple Heart truck, i almost get stuck. in fact, ive already gotten my 2wd truck stuck once. had to be pulled out by a 4x4 ram - a REAL truck
The road isn't paved .... it is a dirt track up the mountain .... not too bad in the summer, but not much fun at all in the winter when there is thick snow ... it has some pretty nasty drop offs .... one of our friends rolled his Pajero off the edge one time ..... totalled it, but he was okay ...
