It affects us Washington people quite a bit. Granted, the summers go until 9:30pm or so, but in the winters it's dark by 4pm. As far as I'm concerned, the hour of light they "give" us isn't worth the headaches of having to reset clocks solely for the sake of tradition.

actually New York is only 6 degrees farther north than Los Angeles so there is little difference between how much sun we get and how much NYC gets in a given day.... weather aside......

 

so if you change the clock you get more sun?
