As with most things, we'd probably mostly agree. I just wanted to get your attention...

The one area that Americans can typically hold their own is food. The rest...hell...we as a society can barely tie our shoes...

Not a threat, I just don't really want to start this argument at the moment .... being the only Englishman here, my thoughts may not go down too well with some of the others here ...

Although, I do like British humor Monty Python, Benny Hill, etc.

I am though, what is the British obsession with very ugly men dressed up as very ugly women?!

I, too, am a fan of British humour. I find a dry sense of humour SO much more entertaining than the crude and simplistic humour so common in American society today...

About five years ago the wife and I went to see Bob Becker do his "Defending the caveman show" Humor about the difference between men and women. It was so funny I cried through the whole show. The guy sitting next to me was doubled over so much I thought he was going to yak!

His premise was that men and women are from different cultures.

Situation 1:
Bunch of guys sitting around watching TV and eating chips. The last chip is eaten...
Guy 1: I Brought the chips
Guy 2: It's my bowl
Guy 3: It's my house
Guy 4: Looses and has to get more chips.
Negotiation, it's the system, guys understand it and it works fine.

Situation 2:
Bunch of girls, sitting around chatting and eating chips and dip. The bowl is half full, they all get up and go in to the kitchen to refill the bowl.
Cooperation, it's the system, gals understand it and it works fine.

On the other hand mix the two cultures...
The last chip is eaten...
Guy 1 says "I brought the chips"
Gal says "What a jerk!"

Guy 1 has no clue why he is now the bad guy, after all he brought the chips!
