I was thinking that was the location where the US conducted a lot of nuclear testing in the 50's.

House specialty - burger that glows after dark.

The wife unit later told be that the islands for the testing were hundreds of miles away from this place. Hey, contamination plumes can still travel, no?

Wrong ocean, Mark. The Maldives are in the Indian Ocean, 700 miles southwest of Sri Lanka. I like the concept, though, and yes, airborne nuclear blast fallout can travel a long way.
