Why WOULDN'T you have the top latched? It keeps the roof and window under tension, surely that has to be better for them

Why does it matter if you keep a glass window under tension? The prevailing theory in contrast to yours is that storing it with the top up and the top unlatched is that NOT having it in tension keeps the roof material from getting overstretched.

Personally I say remove the top all together and call it a day!

I wasn't sure what year it was so didn't know whether the window was glass or not

I would be concerned that if I stored it for too long with the roof material not under tension that when you put it under tension again it could become damaged.

Having said that, surely this roof is designed to last a good few years and it really is going to make bugger all difference whether you keep it latched or not ....
