We're back from Big Bear a day early: fire!

We came home a day early. The smoke from the Summit Fire was horrendous! The fire was hard up against the Snow Summit ski slopes, which are right next the Bear Mountain ski slopes. Our cabin is just below Bear Mountain, so the fire was very close.

I got stopped for speeding on Moonridge Road on the way out today. I asked the Sheriff for a break and he let me slide.

I can't believe I talked that Sheriff out of giving me a ticket. I was going pretty fast on Moonridge Road. He looked at my driving record and saw that I haven't had a ticket in over two years. He said "I don't usually let someone off who has two speeding tickets (both in early 2013), particularly driving a red Corvette." He gave me the standard lecture about slowing down.
