Default West Side.... West Coast!!

A bit early, and definately a bit excessive... 66 pictures uploaded...

First:
Thank you to Luke and Brian for graciously hosting me in Portland. I had a great time*
Thank you to Barney for letting me rock the Contour for the weekend. Sorry about the bloodstains...
Thank you to Mom for your hospitality and, well, for being so darn nice! Your kindness is amazing.

So, here go the pictures, starting Saturday in Portland at Crown Point

"We were on the legal side, occifer!"

* I talked to Sophia today and when I told her I had been out to Portland and spent the weekend with Iuke and Brian, she goes "so when are you moving in?"

Saturday afternoon... Multnomah Falls...

Across the river - note the distinct frost line.

The falls:

A mini-waterfall just above the falls:

Going.... down!

Here is a 3-shot splice I did of the falls. I wasn't paying attention and changed my focal settings, so it didn't work out as well as planned...

And the full sized version (1450 x 4600, 1.1 megs) can be found here

The lurker fish, not unlike the lurker , stalks his prey from the dark recesses with the unsuspecting goldfish only inches away.

Monday... going to the coast while the other s work

I saw a road sign indicating a boat ramp, so I pulled in the lot expecting, well, a boat ramp... this is what I found

The Wilson River, which parallels OR6 (or rather, the highway parallels the River)

Finally... I set foot in the Pacific. Prior to last weekend I had only been west of the Mississippi three times, all of them in Texas ... so it was a big deal for me.

My new background:

I *think* this is Arch Cape... but I'm not sure.

Tillamook Rock Lighthouse in the distance

For mom:

Normally I wouldn't include a botched ( ) picture, but I really liked this one, and was quite mad that it didn't turn out, especially since it took 45 minutes of walking through overgrown bushes to get to the vantage point...
