What do you think happens when you die??
One of the inevitable facts in life is that with birth comes death. I was wondering what perceptions you guys have on death and the afterlife. Every so often I question my own mortality (Especially at 5:10 AM
), and wonder if there is more to life than meets the eye. Whether you believe in some type of afterlife, reincarnation, or plain death with nothing occuring express your views here. (All opinions are welcome) I decided to post this in the corner because I know that if I posted it in Off-Topic it would create a flame war, but I know that the corner has good opinionated people who are capable of having a conversation without all the drama that O.T. has...

Well, first, don't question your own mortality. Your body is mortal. No matter what your beliefs in an afterlife, the physical body you have now will die, there is scientific evidence to back this, they're called graveyards.
Other than this known fact, I don't think anyone truly KNOWS what happens after we die, except the dead.
The beliefs that I was raised by and what I practice now tend to contradict each other on the afterlife. It is nice to feel that there is something else out there for us, that this is only a step in our life process. If it's true or not, I don't know.
I would like to beleive that no matter what, we live in a symbiotic relationship with the universe around us and what happens to us does effect it. Could this effect be an afterlife? Are we aware of that effect when it occurs? Don't know...
I always enjoy watching that guy... can't remember his name... that talks to dead people on TV. If you really watch what he's doing, it does make you wonder about the possibilities.

I myself have had quite a few "brushes with death" in the past few years. I am not afraid of dying, for I believe we all have a reason for being. If a higher authority decides its my time to go, so be it.
