Caught on July 30, 2008 at GE Inlet, "Jonny's Hole" Drift Fishing - "OY! This trip was more significant for the fact that we MADE IT HOME safe and sound!
It was early AM trip... went like this ...Boat repair in the A.M. before setting sail (Bilge pump)...fog...fog... socked in not going anywhere for a while..... fog lifts go to the OC side of the inlet. not much doing there..... then fog rolls back in and visibility is NILL! ...We decide to go into it slowly heading north (home)...using Captain Jon's awesome new GPS/sounder and me as a lookout on the bow. It was a bit hairy scary! I could hear waves lapping on something... the shore...jetty... but could not see it! We make it back to our side of the inlet...WHEW.
So we drift fish the Longport inlet doing really well!..... Well in a sense of being busy productive catching small flats...no keepers! :-( ..... ok time to move the boat back to the top of the drift again....the motor DOES NOT START! .... its been FINE ALL DAY.... both batteries are now inoperable and we are drifting strait for the can bu" - Mike Att
