we knew the headboard was attached to the wall, we didn't know the bed wasn't attached to anything.

should have checked that before ripping the headboard out of the wall.

Actually, funny story... at my dad's wedding in Jamaica, my uncle and I went to hide his bed outside, and when we picked the bed up, we noticed the headboard was bolted to the wall... We didn't have any tools to take it off
