i have a leather case like that with a magnet clip. i love it as well! i do have my old wallet in my briefcase with other old cards, that i don't need to have with me like my blood donor, and voting cards, etc
Magnetic clip...

No magnets in my pockets. Credit card death and worse, BART tickets. If a BART ticket even hears the word magnet it erases all of it's value.

You might remember years ago there was a fashion of using eel skin for wallets and purses. A lot of people found their cc's going bad and eventually people decided that the eel skin somehow erased them. Something to do they thought with 'electric eels' and fantastic properties of the skin.

It turned out to be the magnetic clasps that were used.

I've got 5 rare earth magnets in my office that are super powerful. I have to be very very careful with how I move them from one place to another or it's goodbye credit cards. These badboys are WAY powerful. It's about 1 Tesla in strength. A normal ferrite magnet is about 100 milliTesla or 1/10th as strong.

You cannot pull them apart when they're attached... you have to sort of slide them off. If you were to let them attach to something that you couldn't slide them to an edge... they'd be there a very long time.
