H Zoster has 2 kind of manifestations
1 - primary - you have never been infected before - very bad to get it now. Go see your doctor right away.
2 - recurrent - you should have shooting pain in a particular area (usu forehead or chest most common) on only one side of your body. A couple days later, vesicular blisters appear, go see your doctor right away (I mean right now!!) so he can give you the acyclovir to prevent post herpetic neuralgia (very painful).

This infection is not life threatening but can be quite painful so take this seriously.
