But that would be pointless since I KNOW that it is morning due to the orientation of the sun in the sky, the time indicated on my watch (which is always accurate to within 5-10 seconds) and the fact that I have a slight hangover, which I never have in the afternoon or evening

Pointless indeed since I know that it's late afternoon due to the fact that the sun is on the mountains out my window and the fact I'm Jonesin for a glass of wine. This is afternoon my friend, afternoon.
