I was on the phone with Alex (Poindexter) going to a meeting on Wednesday morning. Wasn't exactly sure where it was, so I was talking with him while trying to find it and hit a bad pot-hole. Started hearing a lil bit of a clunking noise, figured I just popped something loose.

Wednesday night I popped the rear hatch to look at the upper mounts for the struts. One of the bushings had completely come loose. So when I hit a bump the strut wasn't compressing, it was literally moving up and down. Jacked the car up and we could move the strut by hand.

Ordered some new bushings and such from Acura - car will be fixed on Tuesday once parts come in.

Ouch.

No other damage to the NSX? BTW--got the new issue of Car & Driver, they expect the 2009/10 NSX to start at $170K.

The plastic trim in the rear, the piece that looks like an air scoop around where the rear hatch closes - that piece broke. When the strut was coming up it kept shoving the trim and ended up breaking it.

Wow, $170k? I suspect that is going to really do nothing more than increase the value of the previous generation NSX's!
