The Versa has a few things that make it appealing over the Fit. One of which is subjective, that being I think the Versa is a bit more stylish. But it's very hard to argue with the total package that the Fit offers for a reasonable price.

The Rabbit is a nice vehicle - I'd take Honda > VW though.

The Rabbit is a very solid car. I'd have a hard time deciding between a Fit, Versa, and Rabbit. All have a lot to offer.

The Cooper S is an absolute riot to drive. In some ways it has as much or more fun appeal than an S2000. It is not in the same class as the rest of the Bsubs; it has no useful storage space and the rear seat might as well not be there, not to mention the large price difference. It's not particularly economical (I averaged under 20 MPG when I had one for 4 days), but god damn are they fun.
