WTD 07 :corner:s
- The Mid-A guys are very aggressive and hard drivers. However, a few of us have decided that it's probably a smarter decision to back it down on the caravans. Sure, we'll have our quick spurts - but it's much easier for a cop to notice 5+ S2000's and a single NSX traveling at high rates of speed than just notice a single car doing so.
However, on the actual group drives... when we hit the twisties, the true talent shows. There are some damn good drivers in this community!
ff2skip, no s8nt, and w1ngman are three right off the top of my head.

We put together some rules for group drives.
I tend to avoid leading them now too. It's a lose/lose situation for me.
I can remember arriving at a destination, where I never got above 90MPH on the drive, and people were saying they were hitting 110-120 to keep up. (And i believe them because they were trying to catch up from lights.)
I remember another short caravan. The weather was bad, so I had my full-size pickup truck, and I was STILL losing people, and got bitched at for driving too fast.
It's a PITA, it's risky, and it's just not worth it.

Honestly - when I arrange caravans to the actual location, I try to provide all attendees with a mapquest including directions. As well, hopefully everyone is smart enough to bring a two-way.
I have no problem telling people that if you feel we are going too fast or too slow for you, drive at your own pace and we'll see you there.
Since Alex purchased his V1 Radar Detector his driving speeds are ridiculous... we average 15+ over the posted limit on the way to events. Then he comments on why we complain and ask him to slow down.
Now I just print my own instructions and do my own thing... I spent too long trying to clear my driving record to mess it up again.

Drive fast--but drive smart
One of our quote unquote "members" has stated that "i drive an NSX--I need all of the road, that's why I cross the double yellows.

I have provided directions, maps, instructions, and STILL I get blamed if people get lost.

- We had some drama through caravans in the past - new members were starting to cut off people, swerve all over the road, speed up to excessive speeds, tail gate... after that one of the CO's started publically posting the meet spot. Then did caravans by invite only. The damage the few could cause wasn't worth it.
