The WTF Thread
I saw one of the most disgusting things on T.V. this morning. To save money a woman takes a hair out of her toothbrush and uses it to floss her teeth to save money by not buying floss. Now a woman is making 'dashboard' cookies. She puts raw cookies on a cookie sheet and places them on her car dashboard and lets them cook in the heat to save money by not operating the oven. WTF is wrong with people.
When I do go onto crapbook, I always see these "Ingenious" shop idea videos. They almost all are the dumbest shit. A recent one was someone showing how they turned an old tie rod end into this cool other tool. The tool was a nut buster/spliter lol. So not only did they use cutting tools, torch, a welder, etc and a bunch of time to MAKE this tool, using other tools they could probably use to remove said nut, but you can just go buy the tool they build for like $15. So many of those videos are like that. Either 1) you can do the job you built the tool for faster with the tools you used to build the tool 2) A cheap tool has been around for decades that does the same thing 3) the thing they make will never work well and many times is dangerous to start with
Then there are the cool "new" tools you just have to buy because they are so clever. Last one I saw was this new invention by a company. It was a contour gauge. 28 years ago when I was building/installing cabinets we had a pile of those that were as old as my father then lol
lol yeah not sure they are focusing their money saving things in the most efficient ways

Some of the ‘hacks’ are great and amazing- but some are like “just hire someone else to do it”.
