The cool thing about the Nordschleife are all the elevation changes, it makes Eau Rouge at Spa and the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca look like mere humps. I think overall elevation change is 980ft.
Also, the track is only wide enough for 2 cars, 3 if you're really really lucky (or stupid). The track surface itself is painfully skinny, but there's barely any runoff at all! You either have big walls of concrete, armco, or pine tree less than 10 feet from the edge of the paved track! A few of the tighter, blind corners have some gravel traps, but other than, there's basically no runoff. If you screw up, you ARE screwed.

Go to www.racingflix.com and download the video - F355 vs. Viper GTS on Deadman's Road. You'll have to register and login, but it's worth it if you like car vids. They add new ones (high-quality shit like Best Motoring or Top Gear/5th Gear, etc.) every couple of days.
