Yeah, I've done some drunken night boating in (drumroll pleeze...) the Deep south of all places (imagin that!). But I'm confident that if I leave my lights on and the stereo cranked at my house, I should be able to find it rather easily

That river is pretty bad. I've know a few people that know the river really well but at night its so easy to get turned around... just be careful.. There have been some serious wrecks here as well.

Thats sick, I was scared shitless, brand new LITTLE boat (19 footer), had their kid on board, NO GPS, just a depth guage, I was trolling at like 10MPH. the boat rides on friggen rails though, power steering, beautiful dash it looks like a Mercedes!

Shit its narrow and scary! Like 12-15 foot deep in the channnel and maybe 120 feet wide, somehow they get HUGE freighters in there for coal and the likes, I have a pic of this monster that we yielded to

That is pretty narrow. The rivers I was usually on range from 100-300' wide, though they're quite shallow (less than 5') in parts.
