Default Any reason/need to have a front plate in PA?

because this morning i saw an older generation civic hatch. unfortunately had the usual questionably distasteful mods like poor fitting body kit, bad tint, etc, etc..but it also had a PA plate on the front bumper, off center, neatly tucked on an angle in towards the car, kinda sitting in one of the "air ducts" of the front bumper kit. wasn't a personalized plate, wasn't anything special, and he had what looked like a matching plate in the rear...

is that even possible? two identical plates?

just curious...kinda amused me this morning because i got the impression, looking at how it was so thoughtfully arranged and tucked in there, that the driver thought it was cool to "run" a front plate...

just a rant. i'm really cranky because i worked all weekend

in most states you are required to have plates on the front and rear, so yes it is posible to have two identical plates

yeah, that's why i never want to move to jersey or ny (j/k)

in PA you don't need a front plate, so i'm surprised they'd issue two..

PA does not have or require a front license plate.

NC doesn't either for those who want to know!!

I'm in NJ and I don't run one. Haven't gotten a ticket yet... (knock on wood) I just keep it under the passenger seat and say the bracket broke (and somehow the bumper plugs found their way into the holes...)

NJ, NY, MD, VA, OH WV and I think Delaware all have the 2 plate system, we here in PA thankfully do not. If he had PA tags, the front might of been a vanity plate that he had made at a carnival.

The only car's I've seen with PA State front plates are municipal vehicles. I've never seen a PA front plate on a civilian vehicle.

No there is no reason to have them. Either he thinks it looks cool, or maybe he works in NJ and thinks that he has to have a front PA plate?
