Default Clear Bra finally installed!

Finally, after waiting TWO YEARS to get the optional front lip piece to be made by Xpel, I got my clear bra on. Noone seems to have the OEM lip spoiler piece for 00-03's made. Yes, you can have it custom cut at an install shop, but it will never look as good as when the "factory" professionally designs/measures, test fits, etc. and implements into their system from a template. S2ki user "dly" was kind enough to stop by Xpel so they could make a template off his car in Texas. Within minutes it was available for download by my clear bra guy and he cut it out from his plotter in 30 seconds! Cool!

I decided not to clear bar the HOOD like most.

Why? I didn't want to see that "line". I know it would drive me nuts when waxing, and when dust collects. Plus, my car is a 2002, and no chip really anywhere on the hood - - they all seem happen on the bumper, and lower lip spoiler.

I had the lower lip spoiler done and the full front bumper, and thicker pieces on the headlights. You cannot tell this has the clear bra with this setup unless your eyes are 2 inches from the car, not like others.

All work was performed by:

If you go with him, tell him Jason sent you. He said he will DISCOUNT if I send him more people!

Great guy, as anal as I am, which is anal! His hobby is cars as well, and flawless work.

Now for the pics:

That's a fantastic job! You really can't tell anything from the pictures unless you're reeeealy close. It's too late for me to do mine now, but every single car I get after this one will have that installed first thing! Does having the bra on make the car easier to clean? My main concern is bug guts that seem to shellac themselves onto my bumper and never come off. Post some of your impressions; I'm really curious to hear more!

Shoot him an email on price. He knows I posted on this fourm and he said he will hook others up.

YES, bugs wipe off so easy now. I'd get this installed just for that reason alone! I'm not kidding, they wipe off with no effort now.

That looks awesome! Congrats! Great mod! I just wish I did it before I had 4 years and 2 paint jobs worth of rock chips on my front end!

I'm curious as to how much it costs as well. I got mine back in May and the fitting isn't nearly as good as yours.

Great install! I too just had an Xpel clear bra installed (locally I might add). Jason's 100% correct in that bugs just wipe off now.

I had a lot of custom cut pieces installed too, just to be on the safe side. It cost a little more, but I love it. The installer was also VERY anal about the car. He works out of his garage (a spotless garage). This worked out perfectly for me, as I wanted someone to care about the car, not about how many cars per day they could pump out. This guy works alone, and took 2 days to complete the install. He was VERY professional (called after day one to give an update), and I would highly recommend his work to others. The one thing I wanted to avoid was an install shop where some 18-year-old making min wage would actually apply the stuff. That scared the heck out of me.

It sounds like you (Jason) found another anal installer in the area. That's awesome for the Stook community. I fear the first install horror story that gets posted. Here's my breakdown:

Installer: Clear Magic LLC. (Listed on the Xpel website)
Location: Media, PA
Car: 2005 Sebring Silver Honda S2000
Price: $970 including tax
Product Used: 3M - Xpel
Product Rating: 10
Installer Rating: 10
Protected: Hood, front bumper, spoiler, front fenders, both mirrors, headlights, door edges, rocker panels, under door handle, areas just behind wheels (where crap splashes up)

If you are curious how visible the stuff is, I took a few pics from various angles.

Head on shot

Starting to walk around

It's visible now

Clearly visible

Also note that I had JUST clay bar-ed the car, and I got some on the clear bra seam. This means the seam is a little more visible than a normal install.

My only beef with the product, and it's a temporary problem, is the foggy area on my headlight. The installer said it was caused by the evaporation of the alcohol/water mixture used to attach the lense covers, and that it would disappear over time. I've had the bra on for 3 weeks now, and the spot remains (albeit smaller and smaller each day).

Note the spot to the right of the HID lense

A different view of the spot

All in all I am VERY happy with the results. It was a little more $$ than I anticipated paying, but it was well worth it. My wash routine just got a whole lot easier with this stuff, as dirt and bug debris just wipe away effortlessly.
