Default Dynoed my car on 04/29/05.

Had my car dynoed yesterday at PSI Motorsports. Did a total of four pulls. One with the OEM airbox lid in place, another w/o the lid a third with the lid again and a top speed run. The car lost HP and mid-range torque w/o the airbox lid. Top speed was 155 with an indicated 165 on the speedo. Is it customary to let the owner of the car run the car on the dyno? It sure is odd to run the car like that and not be going anywhere.

The dynamometer is a Mustang dyno.

The car: MY2000 S2000 with 40,000 miles. Stock intake with a drop-in K&N air filter and an HKS Hi-Per Exhaust.

The numbers: 210 HP @ ~8700 RPMs
131 Ft-Lbs @ 7500 RPMs

jfo, you're next.

The printout I got is in red ink and my scanner will not scan it properly.

For comparison purposes, my wife has just informed me that she has 117 pairs of underwear.

Yeah, great numbers, especially from a Mustang dyno. Ive seen some S's dyno under 180 on them.

excellent number, many do not even get 200hp, the previous owner must have broken her in properly

You know charlie, I seriously thought about that, thanks . Not to mention the fact that this was car number 2595 off the line, very early in the first year of production.

^^^ Are you saying that that is typical for the earlier 00 models to dyno higher than avg? I have something like #485 from the 00 model year, originally delivered in Sept 1999. I've never dynoed this car though...

Just wishful thinking Andrew, but possibly the early models were built to a higher tollerance. We know the later models have gotten softer.

I'm up for a dyno test. I have to get the car up and the exhaust off first. I think there is a crack in the JIC exhaust so I will get that fixed first and that should be done this week. I might dyno with the Comptech also to see if there is a difference.

Joe,

Did you dyno with the stock wheels or the SSR's? I think there will be a difference because of the rotating weight. Correct?

Damn it jfo, my name is freq.

Yes I had the HEAVY SSRs on. And yes that will make absolutely make a difference on the dyno.

The employees commented on how nice the car sounded at 9000 RPMs.
