Some of the bigger V8 cars do have a nice rumble to them. I just installed a comptech exhaust on my car and let me tell you - no one believes I have a 4-cycl under the hood... You might want to check into some of the aftermarket exhaust systems, they really do make a large difference to the prescense (sorry, spelling) of the car.

With all you computer guys out there, could you come up with a Tach, and vac sensor that you could put through an onboard PC, and duplicate the sound of a Mustang 5.0, and then pipe the sounds out of two horn speakers by the exhaust pipes of our S2000's. It shouldn't be hard to do. You would just have to digitally record the sound of the 5.0 and various RPM's and Hp loads, then upload it through a Midi or Wave sound program, and then download it to the PC onboard computer for playback.

Maybe Rick would market it.

I still miss the sound of a throaty V-8's, with glasspac mufflers. I do like the sound of S2000, but do sound like killer bees.

Any excuse to put the top down and shoot some video!

Here's several runs compiled into one video - from in the car up to 75MPH, from outside accelerating to about 80, a 95 MPH flyby at full throttle, then a quick decelleration with downshifting from 65 to stop. Wish you coulda seen the look on that kid's face when we passed him @ full throttle, 40MPH...

Full quality version available (14MB) for those interested.

2.9MB WMV Version (Crappy Video Quality)
9.1MB AVI Version (Decent Video Quality)

(Fixed the bad link from my earlier post).

Comptech header + exhaust with a Comptech supercharger.

Mike - I can't seem to get a Quicktime file encoded to a size < 100 MB (doh!) - but, I did a RealVideo version that you should be able to view if you've got RealPlayer. It's slightly different than the above versions - I edited it differently and added fades and such (goofed off with premiere).

RealVideo Version (3.4mb)

I love that whine... were it not for the exhaust being so damn loud, I'd ride around with the radio off just listening it
