Default Gear Installation

hi guys,

i'm looking for a place to have 4.77's installed. i will have gears installed by HTG, and am just looking for someone to remove my pumpkin, and install the new pumpkin. a search revealed that someone in DelVal had gears installed by Performance Automotive in Berlin, NJ...any comments on the shop and their quality of work???

a search also revealed that some local s2ki'ers had their gears installed at Performance Driveline in ?allentown? again, any comments? the opinions were mixed on this shop...

thanks for any info...i'm trying to be very particular with the shop i choose; i've had bad gear installations on other cars in the past..

thanks!

How much is involved in swapping out the whole differential case? The gears themselves I wouldn't want touch, but is the case just a bolt-in/bolt-out?

No mixed feeling / comments on this shop. Top notch service and prices.

You won't find a website for them but who cares.

Easy simple shit. Especially on a car that new. The driveshaft bolts haven't had time to rust yet.

4.77 in an AP2

OK I guess just don't expect to cruise along at a low rpm.

Performance Driveline is in Douglasville PA just north of Allentown. You can't beat his installs for price or performance. I have raced 3 different setups from him and never a problem with one. He will keep the car and swap the entire pumpkin I'm sure but it would cost a little extra and take a few days. I always do the diff swap myself (with help) and have Performance Driveline just do the gear set. You will save A LOT of money if you do the pumkin and PD sets the gears.

thanks for the info..

yeah, i realize what 4.77's in an ap2 means...but this car is a weekend car that rarely sees highway miles, and most trips are less than 5 miles at a time.

i also realize that just having PD do the gears will be more economical...i'll give it some thought, but honestly i currently lack the tools/knowledge/time to swap the diff myself...

i'm gonna give them a call

thanks alot

yeah I meant Danielsville not Douglasville sorry.

Danny is the owner and most likely he will be the one answering the phone.

He might not recognize the car if you mention S2000 since he normally works on American RWD vehicles but just mention that it is the same kind that John (me) brings up for his race car, then he will know what you are talking about.
