They aren't 100% needed. You should only really consider them if your slammed.

I have them. A lowered AP-1. As soon as I swap in my AP-2 axles and raise my car ~3/4", I will be removing the 1/2 shaft spacers.

FWIW, AP-2s shouldn't ever need them, reason being, Honda changed the material they used on the 1/2 shaft cups.

Questions?

FWIW, I voted no.

You can always add some 2 piece half spacers with relative ease if you feel that you really need them sometime in the future.......... The 2 piece spacers install without popping out the LBJoints.

With an AP-2 you shouldn't have any vibration issues.

If it were me, I'd take the "wait and see" approach.

I agree with Joe. Install them if you need them.

hrrrmmm...i always thought if your gonna slam the car to just add them for the sake of adding them...hasn't this been covered before with pictures and everything of how it effects your car?

like when your car's lower the rear shafts arn't straight anymore...they get cocked at an angle that puts pressure where they connect to the differential right?

me personally...i'd rather just spend the extra to add them to make sure i never have problems then to find out later down the road that you shoulda put them on and now your drive shaft end connectors are fubar'ed..

i've always learned that if there's something you can do to a car to make it that much more reliable...just freaking do it and save yourself the headache later on when that 1 in a million chance happens that it does cause it to screw up...i've learned this lesson the hard way many many times in my life. don't half ass shit..specially on a car like an s2k...it's like molestation in my eyes...and dangerous depending on what could go wrong down the road...

edit: but like freq said...i'm only speaking for ap1's not ap2's...if they changed the half shaft material and it doesn't matter for the ap2's then don't worry about it..
