help me buy a camera
thanks for the response. i'm pretty much a novice when it comes to camera use so i don't know if i'd need that many features. i've been reading some good reviews about the dimage xt which is the newest version of the minolta dimage series. i'll probably end up getting one soon. thanks again
TTT. Any updates from you eXperts on digicams?
I bought my son a Fuji Finepix A205 for Christmas as a starter cam....going to semester in Germany etc. 2.0 MP and 3x opti zoom, vid cam mode, regular batteries, 64k xD. Via Amazon this was >$150 with the 64k a free bonus
Now I want to buy one for self...either the same one or else something more compact. Thinking 2.0 MP also OK since it will be mostly for web pics
Thinking up to $300....

I used this site a lot when choosing a digicam, and eventually went with the Canon S400. I like the size and feel of this camera - very sturdy, relatively small. It has a good number of features, and some basic manual features (certainly more than I use). Definitely go to Best Buy or Circuit City and check them out for yourself before buying anything online. It pays to hold the camera in your hands, check out the ergonomics, etc., before you buy.
Good Luck!

my brother recently bought the s400 and it seems to be a really good camera. before i wanted to get the minolta dimage xt because i want something that is really portable, but i didn't buy it. now i'm looking at the new sony dsc-t1 that should be coming out soon. it's a 5mp camera that is also very slim. you guys should check it out. it's gotten some pretty good preliminary reviews.
