I AM SOOOOO TEMPTED TO , BUT I AM WAITING FOR THOSE FIRST 600 MILES TO GET BRUNT....HOW DID U GUYS FARE

 

how is this... I took delivery in Nov. of 99' and did not reach 600 miles till March 00'. Then patiently waited another 200 miles just to be certain that she was properly broken in. So to answer you question I waited 800 miles and 4 months!

 

I VTECed the first time at about 600 miles but never went above 6,500 rpms. I never ran the revs up to 9,000 until I had just about 800 miles on the car. In my case that was about 24 hours after I got the car.

 

2 days and 601 miles, right up to 9K in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

 

602 and I had to find out what I had. It was worth the wait.

My car had 118 miles on her when I got her!!! So who knows how she was treated then. The salesmen SWORE it was not a DEMO car (and he is a friend of mine so I GUESS I believed him)

I babied her till the 600 mile marker then let her goooooo

 

i waited until about 800 miles before i took her to nine...

 

I can remember it like it was yesterday: late February, sunny afternoon, top down w/a passenger on a stretch of four-lane road w/no stoplight in sight.
601 miles and bang! Actually, the wait made it feel that much sweeter.

 

I vteched it from the get go, but didn't hold it. Tried not to hold any constant speed for the first 600 miles. Varied the RPM's all over the place, but ran it hard. I now have 25,000 miles on my 2001. The car is running super!!!!
