Default I might be moving to Reading, PA

Finally sold the house and one of the places I'm looking to move to is in Reading, PA. Does anyone live around the area? How is the neighborhood there? Jobs?

Reading isn't an area I'm too familiar with. I'm not sure what the job market is like though, but I would imagine its probably rock bottom like everywhere else. Good luck

Redding I suppose is kind of like Allentown. Half ghetto, half nice. From what I remember, most of the neighborhoods are fairly mature. Not sure I remember a lot of new development going in around Redding.

From what I recall of my older job searches, I remember a handful of major companies out of Redding...

Here's a list of companies in Redding.

So what draws you to Redding of all places w/out job prospects or specific neighborhood in mind?

if you are gonna do reading, look at the wyomissing suburb area. the city itself of reading is very ghetto, lots of crime. the surrounding areas are much nicer.

pbbbbbbt. Oh yea. reading.

S-factor, you should come to the Lehigh Valley. A healthy selection of upscale living w/out the crazy cost of a city. Low traffic, Low crime (outside of center city allentown), easy access to the highways and major cities, (except during rush hour...)

For ex, I am 1 mi from, 309/78/22/476.
58mi door to door to Center City Philadelphia.
42mi door to door to King of Prussia
~1hr to Harrisburg
~2-3hrs to NY
~25min to NJ border (Clinton area)

but yea, depends on what you're looking for I guess... I'd say, Allentown > Reading though.

S~Factor, what Don said.

Unless of course an existing employment opportunity is the Reading area.
