Ok. Just got home from the Evan's meet. On the way home (in the PA Caravan), I was the unlucky one to be at the back of the pack as we ripped by a cop. Heather would have been in the hot seat if I weren't such a nice guy. ( I let her slip in front of me because I felt bad that she had to smell my stinky test piped exhaust...).

Well anyway, cop gets out and of course asks for the usual. I give him my license and began the search for my registration. He asked if the other S2ks were with me. I said yes. He of course asked the dumbest question that every cop asks "do you know why I pulled you over". Me being an honest person said "of course, I was driving like an ass". He chuckled and told me I should call my friends to tell them to wait for me. I told him I didn't have any of their numbers...he laughed again.

So...he let out a big sigh, and said "look, I'm going to let you off with a warning for 3 reasons. First, you have a DARE plate and I appreciate the support. Second, you're in a group and I don't want you to get lost. Third, and most importantly, I have an S2000 as well. I have a turbo and know what it's like to want to run this car hard every chance you get."

I asked him if he was on s2ki but he said no...So Mr. Officer, if you happen to find this post, THANK YOU!!!!!!

Yes. The last thing I need is another ticket. I already pay out the nose for insurance (not so clean driving record).

Thanks Kevin and Jay for waiting for me. Jay, I hopped off behind you because I figured you were going to be able to bail out and not get hit. I didn't want to stay on the road behind Kevin and Heather. I wanted to keep them out of trouble. I've seen cops pull 2 and 3 people over at a time. I knew I was busted, no need to drag anyone else down with me.

The cop acutally told me that there may be more cops ahead so keep it slow for awhile. He said, once the road became one lane, we would be safe from cops and could "enjoy the cars the way they are meant to be driven". No joke.

 

Sorry Jeff to rip by that cop -- and get his attention!

Good! I'm so glad you didn't get a ticket!!!

I thought Jay was taking a different way home and you just followed. I just kept following Kevin til he turned off, and figured he was headed home. Sorry for not waiting, I wasn't sure where Kevin was going.

Glad things worked out though, what a nice guy. I felt so bad when I saw him pulling you over, it should have been me.

 

It's all good. I didn't even see him. I will take that beer though

Don't worry about it. I didn't expect anyone to wait. I was surprised to see the other two waiting. I'm just glad none of us got nailed (especially me ) It was just funny that we happen to go ripping by a cop right after I told you to get in front of me.

 

I was taking evasive manuevers and I look in my mirror and there you are.!!!!! with the cop in tow, I was like Shit!!!!!!!!! Glad it worked out!! Everyone made it home safely, I am showered and off tho Victory!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

 

I figured I gave you enough time to get off the ramp and get out. I came to the top of the hill and saw you at the stop light. I quickly pulled over for the cop at that point. Didn't mean to give you a scare.

 

Wow, probably the coolest cop ever. However count yourself lucky, and I wouldn't expect him to post here, that could be very bad for him.

 

oh, I fully expect him NOT to post. Or even check the site out (he didn't sound interested in the site at all). But yes, he was very cool.
