Looking at new cars

going to drive the fit and the element today, i was told that the fit is very shaky on highway driving and i'll see for myself later.
I have two friends with elements, and they both like them a lot. They are not much on performance but nice utilitarian vehicles.
I don't think that you can ever go wrong with an Acura. I've a more than a few, and all have been very good cars.
i think they're all nice choices...
i'm of the opinion that my daily driver should be everything the S is not; my beater subaru outback wagon is all wheel drive, and automatic, with lots of room for stuff. so i'm partial to the honda element. to me its really nice to have a car that i can drive and park anywhere, anytime.
good luck

Ok, so i ruled out the element simply because of price, and gas mileage. With an output of 166hp you would think that it would do better than 24mpg highway. I test drove the Fit, and the used Type S i had my eye on. I'm torn between which route to take. I could buy a NEW fit, for less than i could buy an 05 type S, buy again, the car is going to be left out in the elements here in philly so a new car would depreciate very quickly. This is going to be my 'beater' vehicle, used to drive back and forth to school about 35-40 miles, and to do all necessary running around that i would not do with my s2k. The Type S has a better ride, more power, I'm more familiar with it, and a better stereo..and in my opinion looks slightly better than the fit. On the Fit's side, it is cheaper, better gas mileage, 4 doors, and might be better on insurance (I'm not sure what my insurance will list the Type S as ..performance vehicle, might become pricey with two performance vehicles on the tab..s2k). The Fit has a different shifter feel, maybe something that takes getting used to??, and the ride was rougher than expected. I'm trying to weigh all these things and come to a decision, what do you guys think
oh yea and the RSX is going for 18k with about 30000 miles on the clock, it came in off a lease and is in fairly good condition, it is acura certified.

The new Si's are nice. I test drove one last year, but I like the 4dr better than the cpe.
Frank, save your pennies, don't buy the 1st yr the GTR is made. Also colonial nissan on bustleton pike in Featerville is supposed to get 1 or 2 in I was told

why don't you just buy a beater beater. like get a used civic or something and save a bunch of money. my beater was 1,200, and after the cost to get it on the road theirs 2k total investment in it. it does its job and was cheap.
