Default lost 5th :(

so as i was driving around today just cruising to the in-laws and back, i stopped at a light and when it turned green i drove off like normal. i went to skip 4th and put it in 5th and it wouldn't go in. i tried to king of force it in and it almost got stuck. oh well atleast i have all of the others and 6th. i can't wait to pay this thing off so i can just stick it in the garage and do stuff when i can.

I read the title and assumed you'd lost 750ml of vodka

Damn, that sucks. I feel ya. I think my 4th gear synchros are on it's way out. I try to be very gentle with 4th gear... high rpm shifting in 4th occasionally grinds even with the clutch all the way down.

sorry to hear cliff, time for a trans rebuild, or just pick up a used ap1 or ap2 trans and swap that thing in.

Skipping gears with this tranny is a BAD idea.

yea speed limits around my house are all 45ish so i'm always doing the 1-2-4-6 or 1-2-3-6 not always into 6th sometimes 5th. i don't understand why it's bad for the syncro's to skip gears. every stick car i've had i've always skipped gears. these tranny's suck if that's the reason why.

well after looking up parts prices. i have decided just to BABY this car for 6 months. i got ten grand left of payments and i am trying to get this free gmc jimmy for the winter. as soon as i get this truck up and running i'll put the s2k in the garage pay it off and start tearing the crap out of it. so many little parts are starting to break on my car i'm so sick of it.
