Default PA people please help

Ill be going to buy a toyota pickup in PA soon. I am from NY. What is it that I have to do to buy this truck and bring it back to NY. I know PA is a pain when it comes to used cars. Please give me all the info needed to make this a smooth transaction.

Thanks

all the seller needs to do is have the title notarized with all of your info and send you and the vehicle on it's way to NY...

He is saying that we both have to be there at the tag agency. Is this correct?

No. Check this link to see what NY requires - nothing out of the ordinary.

you can both be at the tag agency IF you want a temporay non-resident tag. PA only charges like $10 for an out of state temp tag. If the owner gets the title notarized on his own, throw some plates on and driver her home! hope this helps

I have a dealer plate to get it home. From what I have gathered calling PA DMV- I meet with him, if I like the truck I pay the cash then we go to the title agency where he signs over the title and it is notorized. I go home with truck and title and he goes home with cash.

In NY, U like the truck anywhere and the owner signs it over on the spot and I drive away with both. That notorizing is a pain and I hope it goes smoothly when I experience it first hand.

Just remember that both of you will need a valid ID on you to get it notarized.

If there are multiple people on the PA title - i.e. husband and wife - then they must BOTH be there with ID at the notary.

that is if both the seller and buyer are present which is not required, it is only required if both persons are PA residents. the buyer does not need to be present when the seller gets the title notorized if the buyer is out of state.

I know this to be true as I have sold numerous vehicles and motorcycles to out of state buyers.
