Thumbs up paint matched headlights

i've seen posted somewhere that i can't find anymore that a member did this to their car. it was a GPW and it looked sick. i eventually want to take my headlights apart to take out the amber diffuser and was wondering if while i'm at it i could paint match the black in my car's headlight housing. kind of like the corvette c6 headlights...freq did your car come with the headlights with clear diffusers or did you do it yourself..i know you gotta use the oven to get them apart and was wondering if you did it you'd help me when the time comes that i can do this mod.

i just think its so sexy...

I think mikes2k has it done to. Just paint them before you put them back together. Id recommend letting a paint shop paint it.

The whole idea gets lost on a Berlina. The other colors look good though. In fact, I had a set of headlight inserts painted Berlina when jfo had his Mugen h/t painted. I practically had to give them away as I wasn't about to re-open my headlights. Some Mid-A guy bought them, mwilly.

IMO, save your $$ and get AP2 headlights.

Notice all the new Honda Fits come with body color matched headlight inserts.

Whitemistress2k in the Carolinas sections just had his done a couple months ago. He bought a set of inserts off of ebay and then took them to a paint shop and had them color match and paint them. Then when he cleared his headlights he changed the inserts. I think it looks awesome. PM him about details, I know he has his old inserts that he is looking to sell. good Luck!

i could go that way but the ap1 front bumper doesn't fit with ap2 lights right? that and you gotta do special mod's to get them to mount correctly i thought. and i'm only gonna say this once...yes i know..black car's you really wouldn't notice unless you were really looking...well its those details that makes a car truely look nice.

Mikes2k and Nibble both have it done.

It looks nice on the silver, but any other color IMO it isnt that nice.

You have to take the headlights apart as if you were going to clear them, then you just paint the black backing, it pops right off.

It's your car, do as you please.

You have to mod the AP2 headlights ONLY if you are using the AP1 ballasts. Otherwise, it's just plug and play.
