Say what you will...
The Eagles make the worst trade decisions in history. Mcnabb was the face of the Eagles and was traded for (jack $hiT) (37th overall pick this season & 3rd or 4th round next season). Above the insulting trade, they gave him to a division rival!!!
Now we will watch as Kolb fails and fans beg for Mcnabb. Then again Kolb played great............................................. ...for 2 games.

We had to trade him because he has no value after the year is over. Chances are if the Eagles kept him, it would be for this season only and history shows he would not have won a super bowl. I totally agree with this trade but I am a little confused on why the Redskins. I hope this won't bite the Eagles in the ass but i'm guessing Donovan will have some revenge.
Its not even water cooler talk here at work. Not sure why...
As a Giants fan, it doesn't mean much to me at all. The Giants (or WE as Joe hates to hear) will still face McNabb twice this season, but will now see Kolb instead of Campbell. So realistically, maybe a slight difference, maybe not.
There are plenty of spins on this. The Eagles have 3 QBs all in their last year of their contracts. They would have lost 1 or more after this season with little compensation without appointing one as the franchise player, and pay them the ave of the top 5 in that position. Would a 35 year old McNabb or an unproven Kolb or any Vick been worth 10M+/year? Probably not. They can now sign Kolb at the end of the year (or before) to an extension, and not worry about having McNabb and his cap numbers. Its also very inline with Eagles tradition of cutting older players nearing the contract end. They've done this over and over with mix results but consistent decision making.
McNabb has proven he is good enough to take a mediocre, above average or good team to the playoffs, consistently. He's also proven he can't get those same teams to win the important one. Was this the time to move forwards and to have the core of the offense, all in the same age range build together? Kolb, McCoy, Jackson, Maclin, Celek and Weaver could gel into something special.
So as I told my boss, who's bears the unfortunate weight of being an Eagles fan: If Kolb leads you to the playoffs the next few years, there will be no second guessing, and likely it will end in the same January disappointment the Eagles fans are so used to. If you don't make the playoffs behind Kolb, watch out - cause some heads will roll.
Just my perspective -

Yes a team including a qb. If I had a dollar for every time jackson was open and had the ball tossed 10 yards behind him well id have an ap2. I dont think mcnabb was a bad qb I def dont think he was great and I dont think he was right for the eagles anymore. He went downhill big time once he got hurt. I also think that reid ruined him by trying to keep him in the pocket. Once they get rid of reid they will have a chance to start going places.
