Default Short Throw Shifter

I am looking for an affordable short throw shifter, and I also have questions about shift knobs. I don't really know anything about shift knobs, so any help in choosing one that isn't sky high price wise would help

Rick has a Group Buy going right now on the short throw. But, IMHO it almost looks TOO short.
