I got mine at Sears. 35 bucks or so I think. I think mine were Cobras. You can also get Motorola's "talkabout". They might be a little more money though.

here is Sears link: http://www.sears.com/sr/search/featured/fe...cat=-1073870820

here is Radio Shack's link:http://www.radioshack.com/category.asp?cat..._006_000&Page=1

Motorola make a nice one. I going to by one with a hands free set and a quite button. The hands free is self explanatory and the quite button helps to drown out other signals not intended for you. Also look for one with a decent battery life. I will be buying mine at Best buy and sending in the mail in rebate. Total cost $49.00 with $10.00 mail in.

Good Hunting,

ps,

Will we see you on 4/20/02.

If you want the best one available at the moment, get a Motorola T6400. It has 22 channels and twice the power as any of the other talkabouts. The Motorola's are the best. Don't buy a model that uses aything but AA batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries. Some of them use AAA batteries and the battery life will not be very good. The Motorola's seem to be the choice for a drive.

Good luck,
Bob

So far we have used Motorola, Radio shack, Uniden, Sears, and who knows what other brands and they all seem to perform the same. I would get whatever one you like the look of best. I picked up another pair of unidens at comp usa last week for $20. I used them last sat and they were fine.

Yeah, I got a Uniden cheapie at Walmart for about 20 bux. Got it back in November before Fall Colors and the batteries are still goin' strong. I also recommend getting a headset... that'll be an upgraded second set for me (as soon as I save up the money ) It's actually pretty dangerous trying to put the cheap ones up to your ear, whilst turning a twisty with one hand

BTW, Reese, what is a quite button
