Default for the track junkies!

just wanted to give all a heads up on a new track that will be opening in the future (located in Douglasville - Berks County). the owner is a friend of my fathers and has said that all permits have been granted and construction will begin shortly. im sure it will take quite some time to build. check out the tracks and the guys personal collection of cars (mmm F50)

Hopefully they don't run into the same problems as Alpine Rose has for the last 15 years. They have planned to build their track on about 4 different locations and something always comes up that forces them to have to select a new site. I saw their first concept for the track which was supposed to be built near Reading about 15 years ago and have heard of several alternative sites due to public outcry. Their current site is in Monroe county and after getting all of the necessary permits and ok from the community they are still fighting legal battles with the Appachian Trail Conservancy and now the neighbors are turning back on their support for the track.
Zippy, I love your sig. GWB - He would be a great speaker if he just kept his mouth shut.

NIMB = Not In My Backyard.

Off topic but, I drive by Nazareth Speedway on a regular basis. I cannot believe what has become of that venue which was once a world class facility. Sad to see all of the grandstands torn down and relocated to other facilities. Trees, yes trees, gowing up through the macadam that once had cars traveling across it at speeds of up to 212 mph. Truely .

Once you lose a facility like that it's REAL hard to get another built.

Good Luck Liberty Bell MP.

I thought it was all said and done. last i heard, there was a snag due to noise. The answer to this was to use highway type noise barriers to block the noise. the owner has what it takes financially to see this through, and I believe he will.

anyways, just wanted to pass some info along. Just thought it was cool, and hey, maybe a deeply discounted track session could be in the works once it is built.....

Definitely Cool, I would love to see this facility built. It just seems that sometimes enviromentalist become environazis. I'm all for preserving open space and wildlife but there always seems to be a problem with getting a facility like this completed. Best of Luck and definitley look into a group discount!! It's not what you know it's WHO you know, and you my friend know the right guy.

Sweet stuff. The track setup looks pretty nice and the cars are pretty sweet (love the old EB110). Hope it all pans out, best of luck to the builder.
