Thumbs up What's inside the FS box?

Not to pick on any current postings, but I have noticed in other Regional Forums that non-car-related items are not allowed on FS threads.

Some members think that stuff like this clutters the Forum....like turning it into a Garage Sale

What do YOU think?

I think members selling stuff to members of the same chapter should be okay. Now if we started getting a lot of threads from not so local members, then that is questionable.

Also, selling items within reasonable prices, and being fair is an important issue.

Limit the seller to 1 active thread for whatever they have for sale and keep bumping to a minimum.

Del-Val could use the traffic .......

i think its a matter of being within reason. no one in here has ever posted a ton of crap. of course if they have a lot of parts to sell then thats cool.

as an example... if anyone remembers mustangkiller01 (matt) he was selling his tv and couches and stuff bc he needed money urgently. if youre a trusted member here, why not let someone sell their stuff here. its a good place to use your network to sell and a good place for us to buy from people we trust.

as long as someone isnt abusing and cluttering, i think its ok

Voted for selling items with reasonable value. I do agree with the OP about clutter and the concern of the forums becoming a garage sale. However, things should be considered with balance. If we limit too much what can be sold with a membership, that also becomes a disincentive for membership and ultimately s2ki revenue.

^^ Agreed.

Most members inviting us to their "garage" sale feels like a first chance to get on good deals before the SELLER broadins his/her field of interest (hopefully giving us a better deal, due to the relationships built.) Now if someone (first post member) joins for the sole reason of sale, then IMO they should be restricted to S2K (car) related goods only, otherwise there would be spam accross the board and not only in our chapter.

Selling anything should be ok, I just hate the threads that title "For Sale" with lack of description. Also, can we put all the FS threads in a sticky up top like all the other regional forums? NY calls it there "Stock exchange." Can we do a thread called "Shit I stole" or "Blackmarket"? j/k about the titles, but seriously.

Blackmarket FTW!

Agreed pretty much with the above, any sold by a member is ok with me (heck I bought a watch from matt ) though I do agree about making it a sticky or something.
