winter tires
Dunlop Winter Sport M3s. Awesome in cold and rain, great in snow, and unlike the Blizzaks you don't lose winter performance as the tire wears down.
I only felt a slight handling difference due to bigger sidewalls, but I got used to it within a couple of days. I still had grip, it just wiggles more than with the stock tires. Of course, i also have the winter tires mounted on AP1 rims, which may have something to do with it.
I think I'll be swapping out the summer wheels this weekend. The morning temps are down to around 45* now.

For what kind of car?
I have a set of Michelin Arctic Alpins for my SE-R. They were only like $39 each, have lasted 4 seasons so far, and are GREAT in the snow. Having a beater with 14" wheels is a big advantage for winter tire budgeting.

Jim at the Tire Rack recommended the Dunlop Winter Sport M3s for the S2000. I ordered a set today, he said they work great in the snow and quite well in the dry. With the cold temps in the morning I have noted a loss of traction, and I have all season tires now. If I had these all season tires in the snow it would be a horror show.

Oh, I assumed unless they mention a specific car (beater) then they are talking about for on the S.
