One of the worst movies i have ever seen in my life. It was crap. The acting was sub-par, the camera work sucked, the special effects blew.
Colin Farrell can't act himself out of a paper bag, Sir Anothony Hopkins' career just jumped the shark.
They over-played the homo-sexual side waaaaay too much. I'm not a gay-basher, but they went into these relationships without developing too much. Colin Farrell does Jared Leto, Colin Farrell does some real effeminate dude, plenty of man love to go around amongst his generals too. The story was stale as hell, it was trying to re-iterate history, but it was such a weak rendition.
Angelina Jolie, was the one who only acted well, i think she gave light to such a bleak film.
I wish i could get those 3+ hours of my life back and my money, but sadly i can't.
They're calling this movie an "Epic". yeah..............an epic flop.
No where near Gladiator. I woulda watched Troy 2 times instead. That's how bad, Alexander was. OMG.

The only good thing in this movie was Angelina Jolie - even though I don't think she is the greatest actress in the business, she is definitely the best thing in this movie (and looked great
).......especially the close ups on her lips 
I just want to say thank you to tenblade for putting together another fun night with the S crew, but
on the movie.

The accents were hilarious. You'd think the Scottish/Irish people conquered the Greeks. I was waiting for Sean Connery to come out and say, "I will sh*t on yourrr throne and take away your kingdom."

The documentary on the history channel was a better spent 3 hours with much more info and more entertaining than the overplayed scenes in this movie.

1) Colin Farrell did a good job, but he had a sh*tty script to work with (garbage in = garbage out).
2) The gayness was waaaaaay over played. Oliver Stone just needs to come out of the closet and admit he's into man-love. They keep drawing comparisons to Achilles and Patrochles but there is no proof, only speculation, that they were lovers. While some scholars insist they were, others insist that they were not..that, in fact, Patrocles was like a cousin or little brother; hence Achilles rage when he is slain. Now, with regards to Alexander, all we have is speculation. Some say that he sometimes took men as lovers (was pretty common back then) but had a ravenous appetite for females as well; if not more so.
Unfortunately, there is little information about the person i.e. written first hand accounts. We're getting our information from oral history that was written down...sometime hundreds or thousands of years after the fact. This leaves a lot of room for bias when interpreting the story.
