THE BATMAN...well, that sure was a surprise
We just got back from seeing THE BATMAN, with Robert Pattinson as the dark knight.
This tells the tale of Batman, just 2 years into his crusade. Patiinson plays an extremely disturbed character- this is dark and forboding with the overlying themes, music, editing, and scenes reflecting this mood. I thought nothing could compare to Bales' portrayal, but Pattinson exceeded all expectations. If you remember the last Joker, these villains are just as raw. The campy villains from decades ago are a complete embarrassment in comparison.
But I will say, the bat mobile in this film is THE best bat mobile ever- absolutely tears it up.
I'll give this an 8/10. Kids over 13 may enjoy it, but it is a slow burn action film.
