Witnes for the prosecution
This has all the earmarks of a great film, and it was. It has a script by Agatha Christie it's directed by Billy Wilder, it has charlie laughton, tyrone power, and marlena dietrich as actors. It also has a very twisted ending. Shot in black and white it takes place in England shortly after WW2. There is a murder committed and charlie laughton is the defense attorney, recently having a heart attack, he is in questionable health and should take a pass on this murder trial. The defendant is Tyrone who is married to Marlene who is the witness for the prosecution.
It's very well written, may be a tad slow moving for those with current action film tastes, and very well cast, directed and acted. Laughton is expecially believeable as the old barister. This could have been a Hitchock film , it's that good. The film has a reveal at the end that you will not see coming, or will you?
I give it a 9.5 outta 10 cause they all do well , especially Lawton and Dietrich. Tyrone is mis cast imho.
