Charlie Wilson's War
I was dragged to this movie and did not expect much but was very pleasantly surprised. It did not really interest me and I hate Julia Roberts. I thought it was going to be some politically preachy film. The political stuff was pretty minor.
The movie was very good, has a lot more humor than you would expect, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman deserves an academy nomination for supporting actor for this one. He is just awsome in this movie.
If you are on the fence, I'd say go see it.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman should win an award for this one, he was just like the character in the book.

I thought it was a good movie, not a great one. I didn't feel like there was a lot of conflict between any of the parties (except maybe the Russians and Afghans). I didn't get the sense of any personal crisis or moral dilemma - it felt just a tad breezy.
That said, still a good night out.
