I did not walk out of this movie thinkning "that was awesome!" It is not a feel good movie, it is not the biggest downer either. It is just a movie about a killer virus and the possibilities one presents in the modern day world. What would an epidemic that has the potential to kill like the spansih flu look like?

It was well acted, well directed, and not hollywood schlock. I thought it was well made, even though it is maybe not a memorable movie it was still worth the viewing, especially in a year where all the offerings are two star quality.

There is nothing tear jerking about it, but it certainly has some spooky moments that make you think.

Transformers 3 made me think too, but it just made me think that I was so bored my head hurt.

^ Agree completely, it was a good movie to see once, raises some interesting points, and even a bit of anxiety regarding our ability to confront a similar issue. Only makes me want a CDC job even more!

Old book but read "The Hot Zone" if you have not already.

I have, as well as "Demon in the Freezer".

"The Coming Plague" is a more comprehensive (from a historical and scientific perspective) book on the same issue.

I'm majoring in Microbiology so I had low expectations going into this movie. I was planning on picking out all the stuff in there that was completely far fetched and ripping this movie a new butthole. But whoever wrote the script did their research. It was a well thought out plot with some good scientific details. So from a realism perspective, I left having had the movie outdo my expectations. As far as a "thriller" goes, I wasn't too caught up in it to be honest. Maybe because I'm desensitized to the whole viral attack thing, idk. Either way though it wasn't bad at all. I just know I'm very tempted to never eat pork again

The movie depicts a chef handling pork before shaking hands and taking pictures with someone, so it really doesn't matter what you eat; when it's here, it's here
