THE CREATOR...let me think about this one
So we caught THE CREATOR, last night at the theatre. A science fiction, near dystopian landscape with a familiar look.
What do I mean? The landscape is familiar- mixing dirty Star Wars (the rogue one influence is apparent), District 9, Blade Runner, with some original elements (the AI "human" characters for eg)- but I liked the look of the movie.
The story introduces an incredible new actor playing the young lead AI character. Overall, I feel it wasn't as deep as other similarly themed pictures and in fact the plot is one I"m still trying to figure out Was it making a statement agreeing that AI is good and we should embrace it? is it telling us that mainstream media is selling lies to forward an agenda? is it telling us to be wary of AI? I'm just not sure.
Anyway, I give it a 6.5/10. Its a fine movie for viewers 8+, although there is some blood and minimal language.
