Star Wars
The entire thing has been about Jedi vs Sith good vs evil etc etc. Palpatine is such a great bad guy. I do think they could have done a much better job with this new trilogy if they had actually laid out some kind of rough plan from the start but all things considered I think it wrapped up as good as could be expected. End of the day nothing would have made everyone happy. Well Baby Yoda seems to be able to but not everything can be perfection.
I watched STAR WARS- RISE of SKYWALKER, twice. Once with my buddy, once with my wife and kids at Sperry's in Port Huron, MI. I have been a massive Star Wars fan as it came out when I was a kid. Always loved episodes 4/5/6, hated 1/2/3, and have really enjoyed the newest series 7/8/9.
Seeing the movie twice and discussed it with other friends and fans at cars and coffee, all in all, I really liked this final episode. I think they did a great job of bringing the series to a close, correcting some poorly received decisions of the past along the way. If you are a Star Wars fan, see it, but don't get all pedantic about it. I will say this 9th episode reminds me very much of Return of the Jedi and like it about the same. EMPIRE and ROGUE ONE really are the best of the breed in the Star Wars world.
So, I give this an 8/10. Kids, adults, everyone can see this.

Let me preface this post by saying that while I consider myself a SW fan, I don't consider myself a huge fan either. I know the Original Trilogy (OT) simply because I watched them so much as a kid. EP1 and EP2, I didn't care too much for, since, by that time I was too old for the intended target that Lucas wrote them for but I didn't actively hate them like other SW fans either and thought they brought interesting ideas to the table (particularly the political maneuverings). I enjoyed EP3, which is where the political maneuverings of the first two episodes pay off and seeing Anakin turn into Vader. The battle between Obi-Wan and Vader in Mustafar was epic if not a little overlong. Although in re-watching EP1, Jar Jar is REALLY annoying.
The Force Awakens, I thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, it was basically a re-hash of A New Hope but it was done fairly well. Yes there are flaws with it but overall, I enjoyed it.
The Last Jedi was a divisive movie, people either seem to love it or hate it. Personally, I thought it was OK leaning more on the boring side of things. I didn't particularly hate it, but I don't think it was that great either. It had a bunch of great ideas that could have led to some interesting places that unfortunately The Rise of Skywalker did not pick up on but the plot and execution was ridiculously bad.
The Rise of Skywalker though? I actively do not like it. There were LOTS of moments in the movie where I just wanted to laugh at how absurd and obvious at the a) retcon-ing of The Last Jedi b) setups for all the Mcguffins to chase c) some of the fan-service pieces and d) All the "deaths but psyche! Not dead!". I literally threw my hands up in the air near the end when a character (again!) came back. For a movie brimming with action pieces it FELT like a super long movie. I think this is partly because of the fake deaths and also because things move at such a breakneck pace that the characters are constantly re-affirming to the audience what they are doing. When they finally do it, it's more of a relief like "ugh, thank god they can stop telling us about it now." then you get thrown into the next repetition. I was so eager to get out of the theater that I almost forgot my phone and had to run back for it.
Don't get me wrong, there were some great set pieces and shots. The Rey and Ren fight with the waves crashing was beautiful. The chase at the very beginning of the movie was a great visual sequence (although it made no sense).
It just left a bad taste in my mouth at how corporate this movie felt, like there was a list of boxes that needed to be checked off. I noticed 4 people get up and leave with coats and drinks in hand within the first hour of the movie. My brother did not care for this movie either although he has kind of written SW off as a lost cause years ago. I asked my 12 yr old son, what he thought of the movie afterwards and he said he liked it but when pressed about anything in particular he just kind of shrugged. When asked about how he thought it related to the other SWs he couldn't really say except that it reminded him of Return of the Jedi. That it would be a re-hash of RoTJ was almost a given, given who they setup as the big bad.
As a cap to all 9 movies, it completely repaints the entire saga as being about Palpatine and maybe even casts Palpatine in a sympathetic light. It is a messy, disjointed conclusion to a messy, disjointed sequel trilogy. As a stand alone movie it was a good spectacle but brought down by annoying dialogue/pacing/plot points.
I'm glad people are enjoying it. I'm glad my son liked it. Unfortunately, I did not.
P.S. My top three: Empire, Rogue One, A New Hope

I remember when the first Star Wars movie (episode 4) came out over 40 years ago and how different it was from any other movie I saw before. At that time, as a young teenager growing up in a small village in Germany, just going to a movie theater was something special. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime episode 5 was released. To me every movie after the 1st always was a bit of a let down. The last few Star Wars releases I watched on an airplane, where I probably will watch this latest episode.
