Not holding my breath for this one. Bring back Jack Nicholson and Tim Burton!

Batman is a "DARK" knight, not some pop drama, beverly hills high bullshit with a GM truck for a ride.
You've never watched Batman Begins apparently.

I was reading Fox New's article on Heath Ledgers death and it was talking about the emotional problems he was coping with while playing the role of the Joker. This is what it said...

Ledger also told The New York Times in a November interview that he "stressed out a little too much" during the Dylan film, and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, whom he called a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy."

"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," Ledger told the newspaper. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going." He said he took two Ambien pills, which only worked for an hour, the paper said.

Do you guys think the persona of the Joker he had to adapt with mixed with his drug problems could have contributed to a mental breakdown and drug overdose? It just seems kind of strange he died RIGHT after they were done filming the dark knight.

?????????/ are you kidding me? so what you consider a "dark" knight is jack nicholson dancing around to prince, like he does in the first batman? yah, i dont think so. And since your referencing batmans dark knight origins, how about the fact that tim burton doesnt even like or read comic books? Dont get me wrong, i like tim burton, but of all his earlier films, batman is my least favorite.
I have to agree. I like tim burtons and I like the first batman film for what it was, when it was but it has not stood up to the test of time. To me, the second film was better than the first as far as that whole franchise is concerned.

This new adaptation is wholey better than any of the burton era films. it is gritty, way more realistic and more true to the nature of the comics IMHO. This new version of Joker is going to be raw, grotesque and very unforgiving and dark.

I am very pleased with how this new venture/franchise for batman is shaping up.

I liked the original movie as well, but definitely like the newer adaptation in the new series.

It is definitely more true to the original comics. Jack Nicholsan was a great joker in the first movie. But I'm sure the true nature of the Joker will be captured more by Heath Ledger's character.

It will definitely give the movie much more of an eery vibe watching it, now that he has past. What a shame though. He was a great budding actor.

I totally agree, batman returns is by far the best out of all those movies. Michelle pfeiffer was such a crazy yet hot catwoman, danny devito was so wierd and creepy as penguin, and christopher walken was, well, christopher walken. Joker had razorblade playing cards, laughed at violence, and beat robin to death with a crowbar, he was a violent maniac. Not a wierd goofball like jack nicholson. All the first movies definately felt like they drew more from the show than the comics, these new ones are truer to their origins. (and im not dissing jack nicholson)

But you would think that after so many years and new technology that they could somehow come up with a batman mask that isn't made of a thick rubber-like material so the actor wouldn't have to turn his entire torso to look in a direction.
