Default Disappointed by Matrix CGI effects (spoiler)

I have to admit, I felt the first movie was MUCH more riveting due to the freshness of the storyline. Loved the expressway chase and big truck crash/explosion.

However, there were several times that the computer generated effects really bothered me.

1) When Neo is fighting the 100+ Agent Smiths, it quickly turns into an average-looking video game. Skin tones, clothing, etc. all look VERY unnatural, movement/physics are not quite right. Don't do this unless you can make it look real.

2) During the expressway chase, when the agent jumps on the car's hood in slow-motion, he looks terrible, his clothing doesn't move right, nothing about this scene was done right. (Note to self: if he carries so much power he can flip cars by jumping on them, why did nothing happen when he landed on the car Trinity was driving?)

I expect these things to be noticeable when watching a DVD at home at higher resolution, but I don't expect them to be so obvious when viewed on a projector

Other things that I didn't care for in the movie:
The first 30 minutes should have been condensed to 10. What was the point in showing the dance party / sex scene. Very little that occurred in Zion there carried much relevance for the movie, and could have been made shorter.

When the Keymaker closes the door at the end, he is behind the hinged side of the door and stays behind the door while he pushes it closed. None of Agent Smith's bulllets pierce the door (no holes), but somehow the Keymaker is cut to shreds......and he's dead. (Note to self: How did Morpheus get out of the building before it blew up?)

Anyone else feel a little disappointed by this movie?

At least that one I can answer. The keymaker tells Morpheus before he dies that the door at the end of the room will take him home.

I was not awed at the end of this movie as I was when I came out of the first one. I totally hated the rave scene and the 100xSmith fight. It posed a lot of questions, and answered very few. But after reading the other discussion thread in this forum, I'd like to see it again. There's a lot of deep stuff in it.

You should check out the official spoiler thread started by s2000raj, I made me think about the movie a lot more!! I loved it but I do agree some of the fight scenes were cheesy and the POS cop car catching up to the ducati 996? what was that? Still a great movie IMO.

whats your point? They were catching up when Trinity was on the side of the road not weaving in and out, she only goes into the opposing traffic because the cop car is catching up to the 996.

because the agent is driving it, they can bend the rules, thus making the car faster than normal

All the cars are GM, I didn't notice till somebody pointed out, which was Ga....errrr n/m

Gezz can't u guys enjoy the movie as is?? IT cant be perfect. since nothing of that they did can be done on real life the flying n shit. They did their best, if it didn't looked perfect well they tried. Enjoy the movie and don't talk shit about stuff you can't even imagine on doing.

I agree those scenes didnt looked like Neo mainly the big jump when fighing SMith'ss but who cares.. All the fighting scenes looked awsome.
