Looks like it could be ok if the director does not go overboard. I hate this "based on a true story" crap. You find out the based on part is usually that the town existed and people live there the rest is utter crap. Why not just say its fiction and tell us its a fun story. No need to blow smoke up people's butts.

Generally, I agree with you. This is a little different though. They used real video footage from sessions with the psychiatrist in order to craft pieces of the movie. This one's base is more substantial than the overwhelming majority of "based on a true story" films you'll see. Obviously, they're dramatized it a lot, and added a lot to it, but there is substantial evidence in existance that can point out that some the strange stuff you'll see in the movie comes from real events.

Personally I'm excited for this movie. I'm worried that the director will destroy what could have been agood idea though (I think it would be really easy to do with something like this).

 

Saw the poster on Friday. Was wondering what it was about.

 

I'm very excited for this movie. Even more so than I was for Paranormal Activity.
