Saw this movie tonight. It was excellent. Spike Lee did a great job with this one. Definitely worth the price of admission.

I thought this movie was excellent as well. I recommend anyone who hasn't seen this movie go see it before it's out of theatres! Spike Lee is the man!

slow start... can't stand the constant use of circular panning. it was making me seasick...

beyond that, i like the line w/ the chic (criminal) who said: "so i violated code section 34 double D".

out of the 2 movies this weekend, "Thank you for smoking" was a far superior choice. i'm so sick of denzel playing the same darned roles.

I think the circular panning is Spike Lee's style.

My favorite line was about the "Arab" and the subsequent interview (as racist as that was, but I'm an Asian minority so I can say it).

I do see your point on Denzel, but that seems to be the only role he's good at. I guess that's why they casted him for it ...

i saw the movie when it came out like 2 weeks ago... to me the ending was very poor.. i was expecting something more catching; like what was the guy(forgot his name, main criminal) gonna do with the papers?frame them to hang in his room??

i really had my hopes up twards the middle of the movie, thinking that this was going to be the next "crash" type of hyped up movie that everyone whould be talking about for months... i guess i just needed to vent... i still think they could have come up with something better for the ending

peace...

I agree with ykit....I was disappointed.
It was okay but not great, maybe the hype had something to do with it.

I thought it was going to be a real clever movie requiring a lot of thinking....turned out fairly simple, improbable, and fairly predictable. I guess I thought it was going to be a 'Usual Suspects' type of film.

Top it off my buddy fell asleep and I had to jab him to watch the rest of the movie....

Denzel and Clive always do a good job acting but I did think Jodie was underused...

I completely agree with your comment about Jodie ... I was dissapointed as well. That was one of the only parts that didn't do it for me in this movie. After reading everyone else's responses I do understand and kind of wish there was more of a "clever" side to it, but I still thought it was a good movie (unlike Scary Movie 4 which was HORRIBLE). It's funny, I didn't hear about this movie until I went to the movie theatre and bought the tickets (Inside Man, that is).

The plotting was very entertaining so my wife and I both liked it.

There were a couple of things that just stick out too much. How the "victim" was ever detected 50-odd years after his crimes? That might have been edited out for pacing. And then, when Clive comes out of his hole a week later, at the exact time, Denzel pulls up to the bank. Yeah, I can suspend my disbelief. But not THAT much!

A minor complaint is I would have expected Jodie to be FBI or have at least SOME law enforcement credentials, to take any visible position in the hostage situation. What, the news media didn't cover the event? Not even the mayor could have covered that up.

Okay, second minor complaint, does anyone really think Denzel would piss in Jodie's cornflakes after being confronted outside the judge's chambers (him getting the search warrant)? By that time anyone would know that it would suicidal to continue. That should have been the "okay, you win" moment, IMO.
